My own personal Thanksgiving

My daughter Tabitha was and still is such a gift to me. Although her presence wasn't quite planned, she gave me a new direction in life at time when I really needed it, I mean what direction do you have when you drop out of college and spend most of your days depressed and lost. Which reminds me, that my partner Dan is such a gift to me too. What a strong and independent thinker. I really feel gifted and honored to have them both in my life. (and Igor too[he's our pup])

So, I've come to realize that I'm a total blog voyeur.. every single time I open my lap top for an entirely different purpose, I find myself going down my list of blogs checking for new posts-and new blogs to follow. I just cant get enough! I have yet to ever leave a comment on any of the oh so many posts I have been inspired by, but maybe my day will come. Now that I have a new battery and disk drive (the extra cash for the extended warranty has paid off) I am becoming a more avid internet user.

I am so thankful for all these blogs out there that share inspiration and information with others. Not to mention their lives and family's stories! Blogs have helped me out emotionally too, since being a younger mother has alienated me from my friends who aren't planning on having kids anytime soon.
Thank you bloggers everywhere!

The Pterodactyl Life

A nation dependent on oil.. and me, one of the industry's guzzling consumers.  Will the lifestyle I dream of ever become a reality?  When will I have somewhere to call home?  or really, when will I have somewhere to grow a garden and raise animals and my own children??
At this moment in time I would never believe it could ever happen--but the only way I feel that I could keep going is to tell myself that we will find a piece of this earth that welcomes us.  We will not be moving around staying with random people throughout the country for the rest of our days.  Most days I feel pretty good about what the future will hold. some days it's a daunting thought and I feel like I know we're about to breakdown and there's nothing I can do to rise above it.  My husband is kind of eccentric or maybe just odd, and our lifestyle is not the norm--the world feels like its rotating the opposite direction as I am. I want to simplify my life.

Hello to all who may read this blog,

This is the family bus!  We've got a little RV set-up, still kind of in the works but live-able, and great for travel at the moment.  Right now we're in Ann Arbor, MI--but this year's trip started in Tucson, AZ when we bought the bus after working at the Gem and Mineral shows in Quartzsite and Tucson.  We headed over to California in the last week of February and worked our way all the way up to Portland, setting up our fossils and jewelry at flea markets and the like along the way.  We decided to botch our west coast plans and head over to Ann Arbor and spend our summer in the midwest, which was our original plan for the summer.  So, here we are in Michigan!
