what we have done this summer
The Beach was lovely.. We had thoughts of taking Igor to run at the beach today and we are wishing that it was closer to us. 106 degrees and we stay inside mostly, I feel so bad for the four legged one.

Lives I have lived
it is always a struggle to see how all the parts of my life fit together, when in my mind they do not mesh, and people i love do not all see eye to eye. I continue to live and to love as best as i know how.

definitely in love
I just want to spin all the time. Last night I was dreaming about building a spinning wheel, and I was spinning on a wheel in my dream. I have yet to do that in real life. I so badly want a wheel, but for now I am inching along with my drop spindle that I love very much still. I'm really excited to see how this turns out when I ply it.
This is the wool I was talking about in the last post. yellow-onion skin, yellow brown-tea, mauvish-blackberries, greenish brown-avocado skins!

Lately
It has been all about spinning. AND dyeing
I've just finished dyeing the last of the natural white wool I got with my Christmas gift certificate for Kiwi Knitting Company! Yes--a present I definitely approve of.
I took the picture off because I couldn't stand to look at the awful grey red cabbage. It's still on flickr though.
I dyed a portion with cochineal--pink, the yellowy brown is instant tea powder, and the grey is red cabbage, but I ended up overdyeing it with blackberries for a deeper mauve color. I also dyed some with onion skins for a bright yellow, and avacado skins, for a different brown tone but I am too busy spinning to photograph them!
